Whitewater rafting on Pennsylvania’s Lehigh River in the Pocono’s begins in March when avid rafters and adventure junkies navigate the big rapids that only spring thaw can deliver. By the end of April the snow pack in the Pocono Mts. has run off and we have moderate flows through the month of May. These natural flows are augmented by Whitewater Dam Releases all summer long all the way into October. Need to cool off in the heat of summer? Check the whitewater release schedule on most pages of this site and you’ll have found an excellent alternative to crowded boardwalks and amusement parks. This is a place where you can enjoy a hot summer day on the water without standing in lines.
